Display settings
Display settings are available using menu "File" ==> "Navionics preferences".
You can show/hide different types of objects by checking/un-checking the corresponding options, and also change the general look of the charts.
"Colours Used": Lets you choose the general look of navionics charts. the "Easy View" modes will display with larger characters and objects, "BA" or "USA" will act on the colors according to European (BA), or American (USA) standards.
"Depth fill mode": Lets you define a custom Safety Depth sound value (in meters) from which the colour will change. If "Only 2 colours" is checked, this area will be the same color than the default area (depending on the chart scale).
"Aerial Photo Options" let you
define how aerial images
will be displayed (only on Platinum and Platinum+ charts), either none,
full, or limited to ground area plus safety depth defined above. You
may also display them opaque or with some transparency to see
the
chart below.
Chart objects can be queried in a similar way as for ENCs using the
same icon (see here) which also gives
access to water heights and currents tables integrated
in the chart (click on symbols <C> or
<T> in the
chart) and/or information relative to ports and oblique photos
(Platinum only).
Installation of Navionics charts and insertion in ScanNav's Charts library:
New: starting from version 11.5, installation
of Navionics charts is fully integrated into ScanNav, and they
can
be read from a standard SD/CF card reader. Please refer to the separate
Installation guide in pdf
for full instructions.
Transferring Waypoints, Routes, and Tracks:
You may use the CF/SD card to transfer Waypoints, Routes, and Tracks between ScanNav and different Navionics compatible plotters. The procedure differs according to the plotter brands, please refer to the plotter's documentation for instructions regarding the manipulations on the plotter itself.
Displaying Water Levels (Navionics data):
Water levels predictions integrated in the Navionics charts can be displayed in ScanNav as curves, in a similar way to the Shom data using SNTides. Right click on the chart with the mouse right button, and choose "Water Heights" then "Navionics source", which will display the water heights for the nearest station.
